Chris D3

Ever wondered who’s in Giant Kendal Team, what do they do all day, who is it that’s fixing your bike and making sure there is plenty of gear in the shop? We are a small team of four, all called Chris, apart from Rich who we just call Chris anyway so he doesn’t feel left out Smile

If you are passing the shop then call in for a brew and a biscuit, kettle is always on (we also like cake so any donations much appreciated!)

Here’s a few things you might now know about us.

FAVOURITE TYPE OF BIKING

Chris DixonRoad

Chris Stirling - Bit of everything depending on time of year

Chris Waters – I’m just a person who cycles (although I think I’d be quite happy if roads didn’t exist)

Rich Bickley - Strictly road cycling only

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RIDING BIKES?

Chris DSince time began!

Chris S - I was always out messing about on bikes as a kid but didn’t really get hooked until 2011 after deciding to enter a triathlon

Chris W - Longer than I can remember

Rich B - Since I was a teenager

WHO IS FASTEST IN GIANT KENDAL TEAM?

Chris D - Me (cos I am the boss!!)

Chris SRich B

Chris W - Life is a journey not a race

Rich B - Chris Waters hasn’t done a Milnthorpe 10 TT yet so we don’t know

WHO THINKS THEY ARE THE FASTEST?

Chris DMe (cos I am the boss!)

Chris S - The boss of course :)

Chris W – Not me

Rich B - Chris D but he is very modest about it

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE WORKING AT GIANT KENDAL?

Chris D - Uni and a year or so away traveling the world

Chris S - I worked in an outdoor climbing shop in Ambleside

Chris W - Outdoor Instructor amongst other things

Rich B - Worked in another bike shop

Chris B2               Rich

WHAT DO YOU DO ALL DAY IN THE BIKE SHOP?

Chris S - Work on the shop floor - best part of the day is opening boxes of cool stuff like brand new bikes (it’s like Christmas every day, almost....) and booking them onto the system ready to find new homes. I also spend a lot of time chatting about bikes and riding them which is great. Our lovely customers often seem to bring cake in too, which is quite cool as I seem to be the only one that eats it (It might just be my downfall for next seasons racing:)

Chris W – Ride Life

Rich B – Fix bikes

WEIRDEST PLACE YOU HAVE RIDDEN A BIKE

Chris S - Indoors on a turbo trainer. It’s weird riding a bike inside but if training time is short it’s a good option

Chris W - Cumbria is pretty weird

BIKING CLAIM TO FAME

Chris D Beat Rich B to the top of Shap

Chris W - My mum won the slowest cyclist race at her primary school sports day once

Rich B - Did a ride with Graham Obree
